New York Fashion Week '09: DKNY

Perhaps a result of the Mad Men craze, the beauty at DKNY was inspired by fifties glamour.

Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury for MAC Cosmetics used thick black eyeliner on both the upper and lower lashes - slightly thicker on the top and squared off at the outer corners for a twist. She finished with tons of black mascara. Tilbury then added rose blush to the top of the cheekbones and applied a rosy cream blush to stain lips.

MAC Products used:

Eyes:

Black Black Chromaline – lining the top lashline in a thick rectangular shape extended out past the outer corner of the eyes.

Ebony Eye Pencil – applied to the water line.

Black Prolash Mascara – applied to top lashes only.

Fling Eye Brows – drawn into brows to slightly define the shape and add a bit of an arch.

Face:

Face and Body Foundation – smoothed on to even out skin tone in a sheer application.

Blot powder – brushed over the t-zone to diminish extra shine.

Laid Back Blushcreme – blended high on the cheek bones.

Lips:

Laid Back Blushcreme – patted on to lips for a sheer stain.

Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman dampened models' hair with Wella Professional Curl Artist and blew hair out with a round brush. He then sprayed roots with Wella Professional Ocean Spritz to create volume and texture. Souleiman parted hair in the middle, took sections from each side and knotted the sections in the middle twice. He used black cord to secure the knots.
